The Covid-19 pandemic continues to affect events and Friday the 13th in Port Dover is no exception.
Norfolk County officials remain concerned about the health of residents and visitors from Covid-19. As a result, there are no vendors permitted in parks or downtown locations. Officially, Friday, August 13, 2021 is a “non-event”.
Local stores and restaurants can open on Friday the 13th following provincial guidelines in place.
No camping is available. No beer tents will be set up. No shuttle bus is operating. No vendors in parks.
Norfolk County and Norfolk OPP will close Main Street to all non-motorcycle traffic. Other vehicles will go south on St. George Street and north on St. Andrew Street. (See map below)
Large, informal gatherings like Friday the 13th can develop into “super-spreader” events and the local Medical Officer of Health is encouraging people not to attend the event this year to avoid any possible spread of the Covid-19 virus.
Local shops and restaurants will be open on August 13th under provincial guidelines which still limit the number of people at one time both inside and outside and require mask wearing.
Please stay safe and we hope to see you in Port Dover for a future event when the time returns that we can all be together again…. hopefully that is Friday, May 13, 2022.
